Oracle Health has announced the U.S. availability of its Oracle Health Clinical AI Agent for nurses, designed to reduce administrative documentation friction and streamline inpatient care coordination directly within the Oracle Health Foundation EHR platform. By integrating voice-driven chart navigation and search, AI-powered acute nursing summaries, and voice-enabled discrete charting, the solution allows nurses to locate critical record data, review patient histories, and record structured clinical observations hands-free at the point of care. Building upon Oracle’s AI suite which has already logged over 400,000 hours saved for physicians this expansion targets the operational bottleneck of shift-end charting, helping health systems mitigate cognitive fatigue and maximize direct caregiver-patient interactions. Highlighting the strategic push to alleviate operational strain across clinical operations, Seema Verma, executive vice president and general manager, Oracle Health and Life Sciences, stated:

“Nurses are the heart of patient care, yet too much of their day is spent on manual repetitive work, searching for information, documenting care, and coordinating across the care team. Oracle Health Clinical AI Agent for nurses delivers quicker access to patient information and enables voice-powered documentation at the point of care. By reducing administrative work, we’re helping nurses spend more time with patients while supporting coordination across the care team.” Validating the workflow efficiency impact in early deployment environments, Lynnette Clinton, chief information officer, BayCare Health System, added: “As we’ve expanded the use of generative AI across our organization, Oracle Health has continued to listen to our feedback to help ensure nursing capabilities fit naturally into the flow of care. Helping our nurses complete documentation in real time has the potential to reduce after-shift charting, ease administrative burden, and give them more time to focus on patients.” Overall, the embedding of voice-native context processing into daily EHR operations ensures that Oracle offers a scalable model for clinical automation, improving the efficiency of operation and reducing stress among nursing staff.
