Eviden introduces SkyMon NG, a satellite monitoring system addressing the new era of digital and modular space systems

Eviden, an Atos Group business and a global leader in digital transformation, cloud, big data, and cybersecurity, announced the initial rollout of SkyMon NG, its next-generation satellite monitoring solution. Purpose-built for today’s increasingly complex satellite communication systems, SkyMon NG equips operators with the tools to manage dynamic behaviors—such as beam hopping and onboard processing—while also empowering regulators with improved oversight and spectrum control.

As the satellite industry shifts toward flexible, software-defined payloads, monitoring technologies must evolve in parallel to accommodate dynamic reconfiguration, heightened spectrum congestion, and rising expectations around quality of service. SkyMon NG is designed to meet these challenges head-on, offering real-time monitoring and resource optimization to help satellite operators enhance performance while lowering operational costs.

SkyMon NG introduces a virtualized ground station capability, enabling operators to allocate frequency resources more effectively and dynamically across their networks. This next-gen platform is built to monitor the behavior of Very High Throughput Satellites (VHTS), especially those featuring advanced onboard processing and beam hopping, delivering faster situational awareness, anomaly detection, and improved visibility into satellite activity for both operators and regulators.

“The need for cloud-ready satellite monitoring has never been greater,” said Bruno Milard, Head of Aerospace & Defense Electronics, Mission-Critical Systems, Eviden at Atos Group. “With our new SkyMon NG solution, Eviden is proud to provide a next-generation option that builds on our company’s core expertise while introducing cutting-edge capabilities. With ability to monitor high-throughput and beam hopping satellites, and its cloud-ready architecture, SkyMon NG ensures efficient use of satellite resources, providing a strategic edge for operators looking to optimize satellite performance in variable-demand environments.”

SkyMon NG has been engineered to integrate seamlessly with hybrid or fully cloud-based infrastructures, addressing the growing complexity of modern satellite ground systems that span from on-premise environments to the cloud. The platform’s cloud-native architecture ensures operational agility and scalability in line with industry trends.

Leveraging artificial intelligence, SkyMon NG significantly enhances interference detection capabilities. Compared to traditional systems, it improves the accuracy and speed in classifying the source of interferences—allowing faster mitigation and more resilient satellite operations.

To facilitate adoption, SkyMon NG offers a phased migration path from legacy systems, minimizing disruption and capital expenditure. Its flexible architecture allows customers to repurpose existing hardware, enabling cost-effective access to next-generation satellite monitoring technologies without overhauling their infrastructure.

With SkyMon NG, Eviden reinforces its commitment to innovation and performance in mission-critical environments, offering satellite operators and regulatory bodies a powerful solution for navigating today’s fast-evolving space communications landscape.
