ControlUp Unveils DaaS IQ to Streamline Azure Virtual Desktop Management and Reduce Cloud Costs

ControlUp

ControlUp has announced the launch of DaaS IQ, a response to the increasing operational complexity and cloud spending in the Desktop-as-a-Service (Daas) environments market. The focus of the new solution is on Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) platform and gives IT teams the ability to a gain control over the disintegrated systems, make the resource utilization more efficient, and provide the end-user experience in a consistent manner even when scaling.

The enterprises adopting DaaS extensively for facilitating hybrid work and at the same time, lowering the infrastructure overheads have started to face the unexpected costs, manual processes, and proliferation of tools. Juggling autoscaling, image updates, and access in multiple platforms have resulted in over-provisioned resources and inefficiencies, which means more spending without performance reliability.

Addressing these challenges, DaaS IQ delivers a unified control plane that combines lifecycle management, cost tracking, and operational visibility into one single-point-of-access making the working with Azure Portal, Intune, and custom scripts obsolete.

“Other tools give IT teams better controls to manage AVD—we’re removing the need to manage it at all,” said Gadi Feldman, Chief Product Officer at ControlUp. “DaaS IQ combines intelligent automation and AI to create an environment that scales, spends efficiently, and heals itself continuously, without requiring constant monitoring. That intelligence is built on the most complete IT management platform on the market, bringing together proactive monitoring, anomaly detection, synthetic testing, remote management, powerful automation, and an AI assistant. We’re the only vendor that can manage the full AVD stack and say with certainty that every user is getting the experience they deserve. Nothing else comes close.”

Some of the capabilities provided by DaaS IQ include policy-based autoscaling, which ensures that the capacity of resources is aligned with real-time demand, dashboard monitoring, which helps in keeping track of the state of the system and the cost associated with its use, and simplified management of host and images lifecycles.

This allows organizations to avoid wastage of resources due to idle capacity and provides valuable insights on their spending habits. In addition, the solution ensures that end-user experience remains stable throughout, even when there is a surge in demand.

Multi-tenancy support offered by DaaS IQ further enhances the ability of managed service providers to manage their services in a standardized way while maintaining visibility.
