Dream Payments Debuts Dream Payouts to Power Real-Time Transactions

Dream Payments

Dream Payments announced the rollout of Dream Payouts at the J.P. Morgan Payments Innovation Forum. Engineered as a programmable business payment network, the platform enables U.S. enterprises and small businesses to securely initiate real-time disbursements to employees, corporate partners, and vendor networks.

Developed in collaboration with J.P. Morgan Payments, the solution delivers eligible business-to-business (B2B) payments in under 30 seconds, maintaining continuous availability across nights, weekends, and federal holidays. Beyond standalone usage, software-as-a-service (SaaS) and vertical software platforms can embed these payment rails directly into native applications, establishing the technical infrastructure for autonomous AI agents to initiate, approve, and reconcile payments on a company’s behalf.

Resolving Modern Cash Flow Friction for Small Enterprise Networks

While America’s 36 million small businesses represent 99.9% of all domestic firms, employ 62.3 million workers, and generate 43.5% of U.S. GDP, payment infrastructure remains fundamentally outdated. Over 90% of organizations continue to rely on paper check disbursements, with more than three-quarters reporting no active plans to eliminate paper checks. Furthermore, out of approximately 10,000 U.S. financial institutions, only around 1,280 participate in The Clearing House RTP network and over 1,800 participate in FedNow—many of which maintain receive-only settlement capabilities.

This widespread payment latency creates severe operational strain. Research from the JPMorganChase Institute across 1.4 million small businesses indicates that half operate with under 15 cash-buffer days. By replacing multi-day clearing cycles with immediate settlement, Dream Payouts helps close critical liquidity gaps across frontline business supply chains.

The Architecture of Modern Business Disbursements

Initiating a vendor payment through Dream Payouts requires a single data point: the payee’s email address. The network’s core architecture comprises four central components:

Dream Wallet: A modern payments account provided through J.P. Morgan (subject to eligibility) that provides companies with a unified hub to hold operating balances, receive incoming capital, and execute external disbursements.

Dream Email Payouts: Enables companies to send disbursements using a recipient’s email address. Eligible transactions settle via the RTP network in under 30 seconds, with automated fallbacks to ACH and wire options when real-time processing is unselected or unavailable.

Dream Payee Portal: A self-service onboarding portal where suppliers independently manage banking credentials and select preferred payout methods, maintaining permanent readiness for future network disbursements.

Dream Payment Controls: Built-in governance featuring role-based access limits, dual-authorization approval matrixes, and end-to-end audit tracking. To protect against vendor impersonation and business email compromise (BEC) which accounted for over $3.05 billion in reported FBI losses in 2025 email messages contain no direct payment instructions or changeable banking data. Payees authenticate identity using multi-factor verification directly with their financial institution.

“Our work with Dream helps extend trusted payment infrastructure to more businesses and into the software where they already work, at speed and with the resiliency and stability of a leading global financial institution,” said Ryan Schmiedl, Global Head of Embedded Finance & Solutions at J.P. Morgan Payments. “As AI expands software development capabilities, our embedded payments capability can help unlock growth, deepen client relationships and capture proprietary data. Software-as-a-service and vertical software platforms can become increasingly integral to their clients’ operations by leveraging our scale and expertise, paired with the appropriate safeguards to maintain a safe environment.”

Native Integration Into Enterprise Operating Software

Because payment obligations originate within everyday business software such as accounting systems, field service applications, and private equity platforms Dream Payouts is engineered for seamless API embedding.

For instance, financial operating system Mantle has partnered with Dream to digitize private market capital calls for family offices, which globally manage over $10 trillion in assets. By embedding Dream Payouts directly into Mantle, capital calls can be reviewed, approved, and funded instantly within a single workspace.

“Family offices fund the startups and growth companies driving innovation across the country, yet capital calls are still coordinated over email and the money still moves days after the commitment is made,” said Amar Varma, CEO of Mantle. “Building on Dream brings the capital call and the payment into Mantle itself.”

“There is no physical reason a business payment should take three days,” said Long Van, President of SMB Payments and Chief AI & Technology Officer at Dream Payments. “The delay was never the money. It was the plumbing. An email address should be enough to pay someone, and now it can be.”
