Capitolis

Fintech firm Capitolis has appointed Murugan Manickam as Chief Technology Officer. Manickam will oversee the company’s global engineering team while leading its data and artificial intelligence strategy.

He reports to Okan Pekin, President of Capitolis, and succeeds Amos Arev, who led the technology strategy for seven years and will remain with the firm as Head of Engineering and General Manager, Israel, ensuring a seamless executive transition.

Manickam brings 28 years of technology leadership in capital markets, including a 17-year tenure at Bank of America, where he served as Managing Director and Global Head of FICC Macro Trade Management & Emerging Markets Technology. His work at Bank of America spanned foreign exchange, fixed income, rates, credit, and emerging markets technology, focusing on trading infrastructure modernization, legacy platform consolidation, distributed ledger technology (DLT), and AI-driven development. His earlier career includes technology leadership roles at Merrill Lynch and General Reinsurance.

At Capitolis, Manickam will focus on advancing platform capabilities that optimize capital constraints and streamline post-trade workflows for global banks and institutional investors.

“Capitolis is tackling complex challenges in financial markets with a combination of innovation, scale, and industry expertise,” said Murugan Manickam. “I’m excited to join the team and help advance the company’s technology platform to deliver innovative and AI-driven solutions that create even greater value for our clients and the broader financial ecosystem.”

The executive move reflects a broader fintech industry trend of integrating dealer-side capital markets leadership to scale enterprise technology platforms. With financial institutions increasingly incorporating AI into capital optimization, market infrastructure, and risk management, Manickam’s background in bank trading environments positions Capitolis to accelerate its technical roadmap and data-driven product portfolio.
