Anaconda broadened its partnership with Intel to better enable developers to discover, install, and manage Intel-optimized AI, machine learning (ML) and Python software packages within the Aconda ecosystem. The move, announced October 8 2026 is an extension of the companies’ existing partnership that already has more than 500 million downloads of Intel-optimized packages.
The collaboration aims to help enterprises move AI applications from experimentation to production by improving access to optimized software components and supporting more reliable development workflows. As organizations expand AI adoption across local devices, data centers, and cloud environments, trusted software dependencies and consistent development practices are becoming increasingly important.
Expanding Access to Intel-Optimized AI Software
By sharing software packages through the aconda ecosystem, developers will be able to accelerate AI, ML, and Python workloads on Intel hardware. This collaboration will improve the availability of these packages, making them easier to find and install as well as keep current, so developers can work with tools that are optimized for their environments.
Success of 500M+ Package Downloads Demonstrates Adoption of Intel-Optimized Software by Developers Building Open Source Apps To ease maintenance and bring packages to market more quickly for customers, the collaboration helps developers ease package access and ease their workflows while enabling them to maximize the value of Intel’s hardware, the companies said.

“We’ve worked with Intel for many years to help unlock the power of Intel’s hardware for open source AI, ML, and Python applications, and this milestone reflects the trust developers place in that work,” said Seth Clark, VP Product for AI at Anaconda. “As AI moves from local devices built and shipped through Intel OEMs into the data center and cloud, we look forward to continuing that collaboration with Intel and supporting everyone who builds on those platforms.”
Supporting the Shift From AI Experiments to Production.
Most of the companies are taking a step beyond pilot projects and looking to embed their AI applications in business-critical platforms. This shift could bring issues related to software compatibility, dependency management, and more.
Effective access to optimized and curated packages can allow developers to build more uniform environments, and lessen the burden of managing their dependencies. Such functionality is critical as AI workloads increasingly move across the spectrum of developer workstations and office data centers to the global infrastructure of cloud-based data centers.
The wider platform will make a curated set of software packages and models available, together with tools to support governance and reproducibility. This ecosystem, which is being extended through the Intel partnership, will enable developers to find software suited to their Intel-based infrastructure.
Strengthening Enterprise AI Development
With the expanded partnership, companies are now working to develop AI applications that can be run, scaled, and maintained securely. Reliable software baselines enable development teams to tackle reliance problems early on and enable them to build more predictable transitional cycles from experimentation to deployment.
About Anaconda offers tools for creating Python packages and AI development environments. About Intel is the global leader in hardware innovation and accelerators and optimizations for AI and data-intensive applications. The partnership is bringing together those capabilities within an ecosystem adopted by companies and developer teams building open source AI.
More details about the extended partnership will be announced later, the companies said. The announcement highlights the role of software ecosystems in enterprise AI adoption, where performance alone is not enough. Developers also require easy-to-use optimized maintainable software modules to get their applications into production.
