NTT DATA has made plans to acquire WinWire, a cloud and AI services firm that specializes in Microsoft products, with the goal of boosting enterprise adoption of artificial intelligence technology and increasing its competitive edge in the area of AI-led digital transformation.
This acquisition is likely to boost NTT DATA’s prowess in areas such as agentic AI, data engineering, and cloud-native applications development. The acquisition will also see NTT DATA increase collaboration with Microsoft, with its over 1,000 Azure engineers and AI experts joining NTT DATA once the deal is finalized. The deal has been made amid increasing adoption of artificial intelligence by companies who have moved from experimenting to full implementation of the technology.
NTT DATA indicated that the move would enable it to provide clients with ready-for-production AI solutions for various industries.
“The acquisition of WinWire is a decisive step in advancing our enterprise AI strategy and expanding our leadership in Microsoft Azure and AI-powered cloud transformation,” said Abhijit Dubey, CEO and Chief AI Officer, NTT DATA, Inc. “By combining WinWire’s deep expertise in cloud-native development and agentic AI with NTT DATA’s global scale, this positions us to lead the shift to enterprise AI, enabling clients to move from experimentation to enterprise-wide deployment and achieve meaningful business outcomes.”
