FactSet and Hamilton Lane have entered a strategic partnership to integrate private markets data into FactSet’s portfolio analytics platform, helping institutional investors assess public and private investments through a unified framework. The collaboration will bring Hamilton Lane’s proprietary dataset, covering more than 70,000 funds and 240,000 assets, into FactSet’s analytics infrastructure. The data includes fund- and deal-level benchmarks developed through Hamilton Lane’s private markets experience, allowing investors to evaluate performance across investment strategies, vintage years, and geographies.

“Private markets have become a central allocation for the world’s most sophisticated investors, yet the tools available to analyze the whole portfolio have proven insufficient,” explained David Mellars, Senior Director, Product Management at FactSet. “Institutional investors have long managed public and private portfolios in isolation. As allocators increasingly view their portfolios as a single, unified whole, the demand for systems, data, and analytics that span both asset classes has become critical. This partnership meets that demand head-on and gives users the ability to make better-informed allocation decisions across their entire portfolio in a single place.”This alliance is geared towards meeting the increasing requirement for investment connectivity as the institutional portfolios now consist of private investments in addition to public ones. This will be achieved through a combination of the private market insights from Hamilton Lane with the analytical skills of FactSet. More information regarding the products is anticipated in the coming months.
