Infotel Corp, a France-based global enterprise software vendor, is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the IDUG EMEA Tech Conference in Edinburgh, Scotland from Oct. 22-26, marking their first European mainframe conference since the start of the pandemic.

IDUG EMEA (Europe/Middle East/Africa): Five Days of Education and Collaboration of the IBM Db2® Community will be held at the Edinburgh International Conference Center, the premier event for Db2 professionals across the globe to learn from and network with the brightest minds in the database management industry.

When we build computerized applications to support business processes, we automate just about every job in our organizations. The truth is, most IT tasks and procedures can be streamlined and made more efficient using automation, including some aspects of Db2 database administration.

Infotel is proud to sponsor this event and views IDUG EMEA as a crucial component of keeping Db2 professionals responsible for the world’s most critical data stores for banking/finance, healthcare, and government educated with the latest innovations in the field and connected with their colleagues to promote a positive culture in the industry and attract the next generation of talent.

Mullins, to learn more about Infotel’s latest innovations in enterprise software that powers the world’s largest organizations. Mullins will be in the booth to meet and greet on October 24th.

“We are excited to have a sizable presence at this conference and to once again convene in person with our customers and colleagues on this side of the globe,” said Jean-Francois Castella, Managing Software Director for Infotel. “And on the heels of IBM’s z16 launch and new Db2 release, we are looking forward to promoting how the latest version of our Db2 solutions integrate with these latest technological achievements to enhance customer experiences.”

Infotel to Introduce DB/IQ Version 6.02

In the latest version of DB/IQ 6.02, Infotel has made significant improvements to SQL tuning, the Eclipse Plugin, the Index Administrator, the Package Manager, the Workload Detector, Quality Assurance+, and Migration Aid+, among other upgrades.

These improvements were made to seamlessly integrate into Db2 13 and have been carefully implemented with the help of client feedback to ensure the latest version is as easy as possible for software engineers to deploy into their z/OS environments.

With the acceleration of digital transformation across the globe during the COVID-19 pandemic, IT teams are now tasked with managing more data than ever before, and there is no better tool than Db2 equipped for the world’s most demanding workloads.

Infotel-Sponsored Speaking Session With Craig S. Mullins on Intelligent Automation for Db2

In addition to providing major sponsorship support of IDUG EMEA, Infotel will be sponsoring a presentation by one of the top minds in the mainframe space, author Craig S. Mullins. Craig’s presentation, titled “Intelligent Automation of Db2 Administration and Management,” will cover topics such as the importance of automation for mainframe database administrators, autonomics and the types of automation, the consequences DBAs face if they don’t adopt a culture of IT automation, and more.

“From my experiences, it seems like many in IT believe they can automate everyone else’s job but not their own,” said Mullins. “When we build computerized applications to support business processes, we automate just about every job in our organizations. The truth is, most IT tasks and procedures can be streamlined and made more efficient using automation, including some aspects of Db2 database administration.”

Mullins’ presentation will be given on Monday, October 24th at 3:40 p.m (GMT+1). All attendees will receive a copy of the slide deck after the event. For those unable to attend, Infotel will provide a download link for the presentation after the conference.
