5G Consortium Expands Adding New Members to Private Mobile Networks Ecosystem.  Athonet, a global leader in private network technology, announced new members to the 5G Consortium, a vendor ecosystem of companies and organizations to promote the deployment of private mobile networks. Several 5G Consortium members will be at Mobile World Congress in Las VegasSeptember 28-30, 2022, including Athonet in booth W2.1448

Arrcus enables SoftBank Corp. to demonstrate 5G Network Slicing by using SRv6 MUP with SRv6 Flex-Algo.  Arrcus, the hyperscale networking software company and a leader in cloud-to-edge network infrastructure, announced its enablement of SoftBank Corp. (“SoftBank”) to successfully demonstrate automated network slicing over 5G mobile networks and Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) applications, running with ArcOS – a key component of Arrcus’ ACE networking software stack.

In this demonstration, SRv6 MUP with SRv6 Flex-Algo from Arrcus provided advanced traffic engineering capability to extend a 5G network slice to MEC applications with seamless automation, without the need for additional 5G equipment. SoftBank also verified SRv6 MUP interoperability with 5G equipment in its laboratory. The yearlong trial will now proceed to the next step, preparing SRv6 MUP technology for commercial deployment.

Alibaba Cloud Unveils Strategic Roadmap for International Business. Alibaba Cloud, the digital technology and intelligence backbone of Alibaba Group, has announced its latest international strategic roadmap at the 2022 Alibaba Cloud Summit. During the three-day summit, the trusted cloud provider has revealed new products to support technology innovation among enterprises, an investment of USD1 billion for a global partner ecosystem upgrade, and enhanced customer services to provide comprehensive support throughout a customer’s digitalization journey.

Lowe’s Unveils Industry-First Digital Twin, Giving Associates ‘Superpowers’ to Better Serve Customers. Building upon its history of innovation, Lowe’s unveiled the home improvement retail industry’s first interactive store digital twin at NVIDIA GTC. Leveraging NVIDIA Omniverse Enterprise, this digital twin showcases a future in which store associates can visualize and interact with nearly all of a store’s digital data, giving them superpowers to optimize operations and localize plans to better serve customer needs. Also, in the coming weeks, Lowe’s will open up part of its virtual 3D product catalog – used to populate its digital twin – to Omniverse users, to help them create new possibilities in their applications for retail and beyond.
