Snowflake and Workday Forge a Data-Driven Alliance to Power Enterprise AI

Snowflake

In a strategic move to accelerate artificial intelligence initiatives within enterprises, Snowflake and Workday have announced a deep partnership centred on unifying data from finance, human resources and operations into a secure, governed cloud fabric. Organizations will now be able to combine Workday’s trusted HR and financial data with Snowflake’s AI Data Cloud and zero-copy sharing capabilities, enabling insights such as correlating employee-engagement metrics with store-performance data or connecting workforce costs with revenue projections. “The partnership between Snowflake and Workday is a major step forward in how companies can leverage their most valuable asset: their data,” said Christian Kleinerman, then EVP of product at Snowflake. “By eliminating the friction of data silos, we are making it possible for customers to accelerate their AI innovation and achieve a faster return on investment. This means business leaders can get the right insights, at the right time, to make smarter decisions and gain a competitive edge.”

Workday’s new Data Cloud offering introduces capabilities like Workday Data Lake, Data Connect (zero-copy integration with platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks and Salesforce), and Live Data Query enabling near-real-time access and advanced analytics. “Too often, the most valuable data inside organizations is locked away – hard to access, slow to move, and costly to connect,” noted Gerrit Kazmaier, President of Product and Technology at Workday. “With Workday Data Cloud and our zero-copy approach, customers will finally have simple, secure, and open access to their most trusted data – fueling a new generation of AI-powered innovation.” With this alliance, enterprises are now better positioned to build AI-driven applications and insights around people, financials and operations while maintaining the governance and security required in large organisations.
