Observability platform provider New Relic has appointed technology veteran Nandini Ramani as Chief Executive Officer and a member of its Board of Directors, effective immediately. Ramani succeeds Ashan Willy, who will transition to an advisory role to the Board.
Ramani brings decades of engineering, developer platform, and enterprise infrastructure experience to the San Francisco-based company. She joins New Relic from Amazon Web Services (AWS), where she led a core portfolio spanning observability, search, compliance, and the integration of agentic AI capabilities across cloud services. Her prior leadership roles include senior engineering and product positions at X (formerly Twitter), Oracle, and Sun Microsystems.
The executive transition comes as New Relic, backed by private equity firms Francisco Partners and TPG, expands its AI-powered observability offerings. The platform enables engineering teams to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize complex software architectures across multi-cloud environments.

“New Relic sits at an extraordinary inflection point in enterprise technology with a tremendous market opportunity to capture in its next phase of growth,” said Ramani. “As AI transforms application architectures and complexity escalates, engineers need observability tools they can trust implicitly. I am honored to lead this talented team as we expand our AI-powered observability platform.”
In her new role, Ramani will focus on driving product innovation, scaling New Relic’s enterprise footprint, and advancing its intelligent observability capabilities as organizations manage increasingly complex, AI-driven application environments.
