Moody’s Corporation and Microsoft announced a new strategic partnership to deliver data, analytics, research, collaboration and risk solutions to the next generation for financial services and global knowledge workers. The partnership is based on a combination of Moody’s robust data and analytical capabilities and the power and scope of the Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service. This creates innovative offerings that improve business intelligence insight and risk assessment, powered by Microsoft AI and anchored by Moody’s proprietary data, analytics and research.

Highlights of the strategic partnership

  • Microsoft and Moody’s are collaborating to develop new research and risk assessment products and services built on the Azure OpenAI service for improved data and risk management.
  • Moody’s CoPilot, an internal Copilot tool, is now used by Moody’s 14,000 employees worldwide. It combines Moody’s proprietary data, analytics and research with the latest Large Language Models (LLMs) and Microsoft’s best-in-class Generative AI technology to drive enterprise-wide innovation and increase employee productivity in a secure digital sandbox.
  • Moody’s uses Microsoft Teams to provide its knowledge workers and customers with a new platform that improves collaboration, productivity and communication while maintaining the highest standards of compliance.
  • For internal purposes and co-innovation, Microsoft leverages Moody’s wide range of solutions, including Moody’s Orbis database – one of the world’s most powerful databases on companies – with applications that include third-party reference data, counterparty risk assessment and supply chain management.
  • Microsoft and Moody’s will partner to provide data to their mutual customers through Microsoft Fabric , a new analytics platform for end-to-end data management.
