OneStream has introduced new AI-powered capabilities designed to unify financial and operational planning, enabling CFOs to shift from periodic forecasting to real-time decision-making. Announced at the OneStream Splash User Conference, the updates include a Line Item Modeling engine and three prepackaged planning solutions Workforce Planning, Fixed Term Planning, and Duration-Based Contract Planning aimed at linking day-to-day operational activity with financial outcomes. The platform allows finance teams to model decisions at a granular level, such as hiring, project launches, and contract management, while embedding AI-driven capabilities like SensibleAI Forecast for predictive insights, SensibleAI Agents for automated planning tasks, and Operational Data Chat for natural language queries.

According to IDC research director Heather Herbst, “Finance is becoming the operational nerve center of the enterprise. Within just a few years, 50 percent of CFOs will take on Chief Operating Officer roles, applying rigorous financial discipline to operations so that every process, platform, and AI initiative is measured by its impact on efficiency, agility, and long-term value creation.” The new solutions aim to help organizations evaluate scenarios in real time, respond to changing business conditions faster, and replace fragmented planning tools with a unified, governed system that improves accuracy, agility, and cross-functional alignment across Finance, HR, and Operations.
